IETT's First Bus Converted to Electric Started Traveling

IETT's first bus, converted from diesel to fully electric, started operating. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) and IETT, which closely follow the developing technology and implement rational ones for Istanbul, have accelerated their electric vehicle investments. In this context, for the first time, a diesel-fueled bus was converted into a 100 percent electric bus together with İSBAK AŞ, one of the IMM subsidiary companies. Thanks to this transformation, a 2006 model bus that had completed its economic life with diesel fuel was also brought back to the city.

Launched by IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu The electric vehicle made by has started its services on the 28T Topkapı – Beşiktaş line. Istanbul's first electric bus covered a distance of approximately 1.100 km and saved up to 63 percent in travel costs.

IETT will continue its Electric Vehicle investments in 2024.
