Offering 150 different varieties, 650 color and pattern options, the Turkish natural stone industry met with Russian importers at the Buyer Delegation Organization between 9-16 September, organized by Turkey's natural export leader, the Aegean Mineral Exporters Association.
İbrahim Alimoğlu, President of the Aegean Mineral Exporters Association, said, “With the support of our Ministry of Commerce, more than 9 bilateral meetings were held between 16-15 September with 43 importers from Russia and 600 companies from the mining and natural stone sector in Afyon, Denizli and Izmir. At the same time, visits were made to the quarries, factories and showrooms of some of our companies in Afyon, Denizli and Izmir. Turkey ranks 5th in Russia's natural stone imports. Our goal is to put our name in the top 3. “Positive diplomacy between Türkiye and Russia makes this possible.” said.
"107 percent increase in natural stone exports to Russia"
President Alimoğlu said, “In 2022, natural stone exports from Turkey to Russia amounted to 107 million dollars, with an increase of 27 percent. In the 2023-month period of 8, our natural stone exports to Russia increased by 70 percent, reaching 20 million dollars. In line with the intense interest, the feedback we received and our export growth rate, we predict that we will increase our natural stone exports to Russia to 100 million dollars in the medium term. We believe that the purchasing delegation we organized will make a positive contribution to the sector by increasing our export figures to higher levels so that Turkish natural stone exporting companies can get more market share from Russia.” he said.
