Mersin Bicycle Association members visited Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer within the scope of the 'International Bicycle Festival', which was organized for the 10th time this year with the contributions of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality. Cyclists came together with Mayor Vahap Seçer in front of the Stone Building and thanked Mayor Seçer for the importance he attaches to bicycle transportation and projects that encourage bicycle use.

Seçer: “Passion for cycling and awareness of cycling are extremely important to us”

Meeting with the cyclists, Mayor Seçer stated that the 10th International Bicycle Festival started in a very nice atmosphere this year. Stating that they will host cycling enthusiasts from various provinces of Turkey and many countries in Mersin, Seçer said, “Our guests will add color to Mersin. Passion for cycling and awareness of cycling are extremely important to us. "When we design our services and make our projections, especially in our road works, we think about our bicycle citizens as much as vehicles and pedestrians," he said.

“We have added 4 kilometers of bicycle paths to Mersin in the last 125 years.”

Reminding that they have added 4 kilometers of bicycle paths to Mersin in the last 125 years, Seçer said, "In the coming period, we will also implement the additional 275 kilometers of bicycle paths that are currently in our planning." Emphasizing that he also enjoys cycling very much, Seçer said, “As long as I remain in office, we will work to increase the use of bicycles, which provide benefits in many areas from human health to environmental health, from the fight against climate change to the economy. In particular, there will be bicycle paths on all of the newly designed and newly opened boulevards. He expressed his wish that the festival would be enjoyable by saying, "We will definitely build all our roads, where the measurements are suitable, by bicycle."
