Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç stated that they have increased their support, investments and projects in the field of agriculture and livestock by diversifying and announced that they will provide 800 million 2 thousand TL of beehive support to 260 producers.
In the project, which was put forward to develop beekeeping and contribute to the economy with the support of the Metropolitan Municipality, within the scope of the 'Project for Dissemination of Beekeeping and Innovative Bee Products with Enriched Plant Diversity' in Kayseri, the distribution of beehives in 2023 will be carried out.
2023 MILLION 800 thousand TL SUPPORT TO BEekeepers with 2 bee hives in 260
The Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, who always stands by the producers of Kayseri, Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, in his statement on the subject, stated that with the ceremony to be held on Wednesday, July 12, a contribution of 800 million 2 thousand TL will be provided by providing 260 bee hives support to beekeepers engaged in beekeeping activities in Kayseri.
TOTAL INVESTMENT OF 2 MILLION 690 Thousand TL WITH INCREASING SUPPORT
Mayor Büyükkkılıç stated that the Metropolitan Municipality provided a total of 2022 beehives with a total value of 430 thousand TL in 420, and increased its support to 2023 hives in 800, adding, “The beekeeping support of the Metropolitan Municipality in the last two years is 1220 million 2 hives with a total of 690 hives. It has risen to a thousand TL,” he said.
POSITIVE INCREASES IN VEGETABLE PRODUCTION ARE PROJECTED TO OCCUR
Büyükkılıç said that the project was put forward for the further development of intermediation in Kayseri and said, “With the project put forward for the further development of intermediation in Kayseri, which is among the provinces rich in flower diversity and whose current flower potential constitutes a solid basis for beekeeping, beekeeping activities in the region. It is foreseen that beekeeping will provide ecological balance as a result of its implementation, and positive increases in plant production will occur due to the environmentalist attitude and its contribution to pollination.
THE PROJECT IMPLEMENTED IN 7 DISTRICTS IN KAYSERİ
President Büyükkılıç emphasized that the project was implemented in 7 districts of Kayseri and said:
“While it is known that there is a great deal of literature explaining that bees have significant environmental benefits, and bees play an important role in increasing and protecting biodiversity and even in the continuation of many plants, it is thought that the project also provides benefits to the environment. In this context, Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality continues to support beekeeping activities this year, as in previous years. Thanks to the support of the project, which was realized in the form of a grant, it is aimed to encourage those who are willing to do beekeeping to beekeeping, to make the people of the region a well-equipped farmer and to contribute to the employment of the region. In this sense, the project was implemented in 7 districts of Kayseri, namely Özvatan, Hacılar, İncesu, Kocasinan, Talas, Pınarbaşı and Sarız.”
