The first Confucius Institute in Saudi Arabia was officially opened at Prince Sultan University in the capital, Riyadh. In his speech at the opening ceremony, Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Yamani said that the establishment of Prince Sultan University Confucius Institute will provide valuable opportunities for university students and Saudi Arabian youth to learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture, and will play a positive role in accelerating cultural and economic communication and cooperation between the two countries.
Chinese Embassy Charge d'Affaires Yin Lijun stated that in recent years, under the leadership of the leaders of the two countries, the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership relationship has continued to develop rapidly, and the cooperation in all fields has been continuously expanded.
Yin said, “Currently, Chinese classes have been opened in 4 universities and 8 secondary and primary schools in Saudi Arabia.
