In cooperation with Manisa Governorship, Manisa Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, Manisa Municipality and Aegean Exporters' Associations, 50 thousand biotechnical control traps were distributed to producers in Saruhanlı, Sarıgöl, Yunus Emre and Turgutlu districts as part of the 'Application of Biotechnical Control Method against Cluster Moth Pest in Vineyards'.

Aegean Exporters' Unions Deputy Coordinator Chairman Hayrettin Plane, President of Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters' Association, said, “When it comes to fresh grape production in the world and in Turkey, Manisa is the first place that comes to mind. We have been working meticulously for many years in cooperation with our stakeholders for the termination of pesticide use and residue-free production by informing our farmers, with our R&D activities for quality and efficiency in grapes, which we are in the first place in production and export in the world. We are striving to find the most valuable place both in our country's market and in the international arena, and to ensure that all our producers are rewarded for their efforts. By exporting 2022 thousand tons of table grapes across Turkey in 224, we earned 176 million dollars in foreign currency for our country. With sustainability-oriented projects, we aim to increase our exports of seedless raisins, fresh grapes, wine, molasses, vine leaves, cider, grape juice and the most exported grapes and products among agricultural products that generate foreign exchange income of approximately 750 million dollars.” said.

Manisa Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Metin Öztürk said, “We are carrying out many projects in Manisa, the center of both fresh grapes and raisins, in order to achieve the desired standards in more qualified production and export to foreign markets. One of the most important of these projects is to reduce pesticides and use biotechnical control methods. We are carrying out this project with a budget of nearly 6 million TL on an area of 245 thousand 3 decares in all districts of Manisa. We are trying to produce projects and resources for our farmers with many stakeholders. We try to support you in every way in the field. Our province ranks first in Turkey in Biotechnical control, which is an alternative to chemical control. This is a clear indication that the most qualified products are produced in Manisa.” he said.
