The countdown has begun for the Red Bull Half Court Turkey Final, a 3×3 basketball tournament that combines street culture and basketball and where amateur basketball players showcase their talents every year. In addition to the final competitions, the event, where various competitions and events will meet with the audience, will take place on Sunday, June 4, at Istanbul Galataport Clock Tower Square.
There are only a few days left for the final excitement at the Red Bull Half Court, which was implemented this year as part of the cooperation with the Turkish University Sports Federation and where 2023 men's and 77 women's basketball teams from 70 universities participated in the 38 qualifiers. The final of the Red Bull Half Court, the 3×3 basketball tournament with the highest number of participants in Turkey, will take place on Sunday, June 4, at Istanbul Galataport Clock Tower Square.
As a result of the eliminations in which 19 athletes competed in Istanbul Technical University, Ege University (Izmir), 540 Mayıs University (Samsun) and Gazi University (Ankara), 8 women's and 8 men's basketball teams won the championship in this year's Turkey Final of Red Bull Half Court. He will fight to reach the trophy.
In the Red Bull Half Court, where various competitions and events will meet with the audience as well as the final competitions, the champion teams in the men's and women's categories will be entitled to represent our country at the Red Bull Half Court World Final, which will be held in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, in September.
Finalists announced
The teams that will compete in the Red Bull Half Court Turkey Final were determined after the local qualifiers, where fierce competition took place. Atatürk University, Gazi University, Hacettepe University, Istanbul Concept Vocational School, Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University, Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa, Yıldız Technical University, Istanbul Medipol University teams will participate. In the men's category, Atatürk University, Atılım University, Middle East Technical University, Manisa Celal Bayar University, Marmara University, Istanbul Doğuş University, Istanbul Beykoz University and Istanbul Gelisim University will compete.
The key to win is 21 numbers
In the Red Bull Half Court 3×3 basketball tournament, teams consist of 3 main and 1 substitute players. Matches are played over 10 minutes or 21 points. The team that reaches 21 points first or has the advantage of scoring at the end of 10 minutes is the winner of the match. If the scores of the two teams are equal at the end of the match, the fight goes to overtime. The team that scores 2 points in overtime also wins the match.
