Ankara Metropolitan Municipality will start to serve with drone in vector control and agricultural fertilization applications. With the 'Agricultural Spraying Drone', which will serve under BelPlas AŞ, both spraying in areas where the teams cannot reach and agricultural spraying and fertilizing in rural areas will be carried out more quickly and safely.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which has implemented services that will make the lives of Ankara residents easier, continues to implement technological innovations by following them.

BelPlas AŞ, one of the subsidiaries of ABB, has acquired the 'Agricultural Spraying Drone' for use in vector control and agricultural spraying-fertilization applications.

IT WILL BE USED FOR BOTH FERTILIZATION AND PESTICIDE

BelPlas AŞ, a subsidiary of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which has produced many products from liquid fertilizer to road marking paint, from de-icing solutions to cosmetic oils, will now serve the residents of Başkent with its Agricultural Spraying Drone.

The 30-liter (70-kilogram) fertilization and spraying drone will be used both for fertilization in rural areas and for vector-fighting efforts carried out in every part of the Capital.

While spraying is carried out in areas where teams and vehicles cannot reach during the efforts to combat vector with drones, it will be possible to reach the points where the farmers cannot enter with the tractor in order not to damage their crops, and the product efficiency will increase. In addition, spraying and fertilization costs will decrease.

FRIENDLY TO DOMESTIC MANUFACTURERS ABB

Expressing that as Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, they continue to provide services that prioritize villagers and farmers, BelPlas AŞ Deputy General Manager Dr. Mustafa Hazman, “Our drone service; a service that prioritizes our villagers and farmers. In addition, it is a service we started to improve the city life and the quality of nature in Ankara.”

Reminding that they provide seeds, fertilizer and seedlings to the farmers, Hazman said, “But as it is known, there are financial impossibilities in our villages… There are some of our farmers who do not have a tractor or who cannot afford diesel oil. Even if there are all of these, there are situations where it is inconvenient for the tractor to enter the field after the crops have reached a certain level. We are launching a drone service to overcome all these problems," he said.

Hazman continued:

“We put the liquid fertilizer we give to the villager into the drone's reservoir and fertilize our villager's field from above. Secondly, there are reedy areas, areas where sewers are mixed, and areas where pesticides are required in Ankara. Either our people or our machines cannot enter these areas because it is bumpy. We are using our drone again here and we are doing agricultural spraying from above.”
