The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure announced that the capacity of high-speed trains has been increased by 2, and mainline trains by 466, in order to meet the increasing passenger density before the election, for a total of 3 passengers.

According to the written statement from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure; TCDD Transportation General Directorate took some measures to meet the increasing passenger demand due to the 14 May 2023 Presidential and 28th Term Parliamentary Elections. While additional high-speed trains were put into service on the lines with passenger density, the capacity of some trains was increased.

According to this; Additional high-speed trains were launched between Ankara-Istanbul (Söğütlüçeşme)-Ankara on 13, 14 and 15 May 2023. Additional high-speed trains; It will depart from Ankara at 11.50 and from Istanbul at 17.10.

In addition, the capacities of the Ankara Express, Güney/Van Lake Express, 4 September Blue Express and İzmir Blue Express were increased by adding wagons for Friday, Saturday and Monday. With this arrangement, the capacity of high-speed trains was increased by 2 thousand 466, and 3 thousand 866 on mainline trains, a total of 6 thousand 332 passengers.
