With the support of Mayor Mehmet Zeybek, the 22nd Afyonkarahisar Classical Music Festival is being held this year. The opening of the festival, which brings classical music lovers together, was performed by Bursa Regional State Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Conductor Naci Özgüç, the first and only regional orchestra of our country, and soloist violinist Matteo Hager.
Afyonkarahisar Classical Music Festival is held for the 2nd time between 8-22 May. The festival, supported by our municipality, started with a concert by the multi-award winning artist Hager, who has been playing the violin since he was four years old. The festival will end with the Prague Chamber Orchestra and Soloists Concert; concerts, exhibitions and live broadcasts will bring music-filled moments to art lovers. School Talks, one of the most loved and indispensable parts of the festival, will continue this year as well. Author Adnan Özyalçıner, Özalp Birol, Metin Celal, poet and writer Yalvaç Ural, President of the Turkish Publishers Association Kenan Kocatürk, veteran of the photograph İsa Çelik, businessperson Nuri Akın, writer Nazlı Eray, writer and editor will be among the names who will participate in the one-on-one interviews with the students in the classrooms. Feridun Andaç, presenter and moderator as well as educator Defne Sarısoy, painter and Yıldız Technical University lecturer Yusuf Taktak, award-winning film director Yüksel Aksu.
The exhibition of the painter Yusuf Taktak, born in Bolvadin, Afyon, who is among the most influential figures in shaping the art of painting in Turkey, will be opened at a village school in the Noah Village of Afyon within the scope of the festival.
