prof. Dr. Müfit Zeki Karagülle said that mothers during pregnancy and breastfeeding should consume enough water for their baby's health.

Giving information about the daily amount of water that pregnant and lactating mothers should consume, Prof. Dr. Müfit Zeki Karagülle said, “Mothers need to take more water and fluids in order not to be dehydrated due to the increased water requirement during pregnancy and breastfeeding. While it is sufficient for women to drink 2-2,2 liters of water per day, it is of great importance for pregnant women to increase this amount to 2,5-3 liters per day and for breastfeeding mothers to 3,5-4 liters per day for the healthy development of both themselves and their babies. ” said.

Emphasizing the benefits of choosing natural springs and natural mineral waters, which are obtained from natural sources and offered for consumption in healthy conditions, Prof. Dr. Karagülle used the following statements:

“Drinking adequate water during pregnancy alleviates the increased digestive burden. Water also helps nutrients circulate in the mother's body and ensures that nutrients, vitamins and minerals reach the baby through the mother's blood. In addition, adequate water intake helps to remove wastes formed as a result of metabolism in the baby and mother. In a pregnant woman who drinks insufficient water, these functions can be disrupted and cause health problems. For example, constipation is a common problem during pregnancy. Drinking more water will help relieve constipation. During pregnancy, the mother's need for minerals such as calcium, magnesium and fluoride increases. Because the baby, which develops and grows in the womb, needs minerals dissolved in water for bone and muscle health in general and in particular. Therefore, it will be much healthier for pregnant women to prefer natural mineral and natural spring waters rather than purified and demineralized waters.”
