Speaking at the Opening Ceremony of the AKM-Gar-Kızılay Metro Line held at Ankara Station Station, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that the Ankara-Yozgat-Sivas YHT will open on April 26.
Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train Line is one of the most eagerly awaited giant projects. There are only a few days left until the opening. The 400-kilometer Ankara-Sivas high-speed train line will be an important part of the east-west high-speed rail corridor stretching from Edirne to Kars. With the project, we will introduce the high-speed train comfort to Kırıkkale, Yozgat and Sivas provinces. 1,4 million citizens will have the opportunity to travel by high-speed train. It will reduce the distance between Ankara and Sivas from 603 kilometers to 400 kilometers. The distance between Istanbul and Sivas will be reduced to 6 hours, the distance between Ankara and Sivas will be reduced to 2 hours, and the distance between Ankara and Yozgat will be reduced to 1 hour.
There are 8 stations on the Ankara-Sivas YHT Line, namely Elmadağ, Kırıkkale, Yerköy, Yozgat, Sorgun, Akdağmadeni, Yıldızeli and Sivas. There are 400 tunnels and 49 viaducts in the 49-kilometer line. The high-speed train line will extend to Baku.
