Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made a statement at Ankara YHT Station regarding the Ankara-Sivas High Speed Line, which will be opened on April 26 with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that they will put the Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train Line into service with the ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan tomorrow, and said, “With the project, we will introduce the high-speed train comfort to Kırıkkale, Yozgat and Sivas provinces. With our line, we reduced the distance between Ankara-Sivas from 603 kilometers to 405 kilometers, the travel time from 12 hours to 2 hours, and the distance between Ankara and Yozgat to 1 hour.”
Karaismailoğlu, by opening the Ankara-Yozgat-Sivas High Speed Train Line, said that they would be proud of successfully completing one of Turkey's apple projects, adding, “We have turned another very big and important project from a dream into reality for our country. We are putting all the projects we have implemented in the last 21 years into service in the field of transportation, as well as in all sectors, in line with the interests of our country and nation.
Expressing that they started a new era by declaring a mobilization on the railways, Karaismailoğlu said that with the completion of the Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train Line, they will increase the length of the railway to 13 thousand 896 kilometers and the length of the high-speed train line to 2 thousand 228 kilometers as of tomorrow.

On the Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train Line; Informing that there are 8 stations, namely Elmadağ, Kırıkkale, Yerköy, Yozgat, Sorgun, Akdağmadeni, Yıldızeli and Sivas, Karaismailoğlu said, “With the project, we will introduce the high-speed train comfort to Kırıkkale, Yozgat and Sivas provinces. We reduced the distance between Ankara and Sivas from 603 kilometers to 405 kilometers with our line. We reduced the travel time from 12 hours to 2 hours, and the distance between Ankara and Yozgat to 1 hour. With our project, with the connection of Kırıkkale, Yozgat and Sivas provinces to the Ankara-based high-speed train network, we enable approximately 1,4 million citizens living in these provinces to travel by high-speed train. Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train Line will host many passengers coming from cities such as Konya, Eskişehir, including Istanbul. Thus, high-speed train service is provided to approximately 11 percent of the country's population in a total of 9 provinces, directly to 20 provinces on the Ankara-Eskişehir-Istanbul, Ankara-Konya, Konya-Karaman and Ankara-Sivas high-speed train routes, and indirectly to our 50 neighboring provinces. We will present it,” he said.
“Domestic rail was used for the first time on the high-speed train line”
Explaining that they have successfully completed and put into service 405 tunnels with a length of 66 kilometers and 49 viaducts with a length of 27,2 kilometers on the Ankara-Sivas High Speed Line of 49 kilometers, Karaismailoğlu said, “If we talk about the firsts and the greatest of our line; We built the longest tunnel of the project in Akdağmadeni with 5 thousand 125 meters and the longest railway viaduct with 2 thousand 220 meters in Çerikli-Kırıkkale. We built the railway viaduct with the highest pillar of Turkey in Elmadağ with a height of 89 meters. For the first time on the high-speed train line, we have laid a total of 676 kilometers of rail using domestic rail. We realized the first ballastless road, namely concrete road application, in tunnels with 138 kilometers of concrete roads. In project scope; We built a local and national ice prevention and defrosting facility in Sivas. Our giant works that we brought to all four corners of Turkey at the same time; as it serves our nation's fast, safe and comfortable transportation; It also provides the infrastructure of a great and powerful Turkey, on which the 'Century of Turkey' will rise. We will continue to illuminate the future of our country in the fastest way and with the right steps.
