IMM will build 1.000 temporary houses in Hatay, which has been shaken by earthquakes. It will repair drinking water, sewer and electricity infrastructure. With the unanimous decision of the IMM Assembly, 62,5 million lira aid will be provided to Hatay Metropolitan Municipality for all these works.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) continues to heal the wounds in the region after two major earthquakes centered on Pazarcık and Elbistan districts of Kahramanmaraş on 6 February. IMM, which has been providing services such as search and rescue, food, shelter, cleaning, medical assistance, debris removal in the city of Hatay since the first day with the assignment of AFAD, rolled up its sleeves for the city's development, temporary shelter and infrastructure needs.

With the unanimous decision of the IMM Assembly, in order to continue to provide the services of Hatay Metropolitan Municipality; 1.000 million lira aid will be provided to Hatay Metropolitan Municipality for the construction of 62,5 temporary residences in the city and the repair of drinking water, sewerage and electricity infrastructure.

In this context, 1.000 temporary residences will be built for Hatay Metropolitan Municipality personnel. Moreover; 30 million lira for the construction, maintenance and repair of drinking water tanks, 7.5 million lira for the supply of materials to be used in the repair of drinking water networks, 10 million lira for the supply of materials to be used in the repair of sewer networks, 15 million lira for the supply of materials to be used in the maintenance and repair of electrical facilities. pounds will be given.

In the council decision, it was pointed out that after the earthquake disaster that caused great destruction, the spatial facilities of Hatay Metropolitan Municipality were damaged and most of the personnel were unable to take part in the social and physical plan studies. It was also emphasized that the waste water treatment plants, drinking water transmission lines, sewerage network systems, drinking water networks and tanks, and the electrical facilities operating these systems throughout the province were damaged and became unable to serve.

Wounds are rapidly healing

IMM Assembly, with a second decision; In order to alleviate the suffering of the people of the region who were damaged by the earthquake and to protect human life and health, it was requested to continue the uninterrupted support and aid to the region since the first day.

By decision; Housing, subsistence, infrastructure, health, clothing and similar essential aids will continue to be delivered to the disaster victims as required. The continuity of the personnel involved in aid and support activities in the disaster area will be ensured in turns.

832 TRAILER HUMANITARIAN AID DELIVERED

IMM has so far deployed 7.520 personnel and 1.551 construction equipment and service vehicles in the earthquake zone. Along with 584 volunteers, 8.104 personnel took part in the field. Currently, 517 personnel and 354 construction machines are actively working in the region. 561 people were rescued alive from the rubble by IMM teams.

615 aid vehicles and 656 containers were sent to the region, including 97 humanitarian aid trucks. 124 trucks of Pet Water Hamidiye water and 52 trucks (4,7 million pieces of 50 gr Mediterranean bread), 515 golden muffins, 74 thousand baby biscuits, and 4 thousand gluten-free breads were distributed. In total, 8.766 tents were distributed or set up. Food service was provided to a total of 714 thousand people, and mobile buffet service was provided to 96 thousand people. In Antakya and Iskenderun, 3 meals are produced for 13 thousand people and distributed from 5 points.

Moreover; The production of a temporary living space for 14 people, which will consist of 226 units, started in Antakya on March 1.150. Their production will be completed in 3,5 months.
