The Antakya Civilizations Choir also supported the “One Rent One Home” campaign initiated by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality for earthquake victims. Proceeds of the concert to be held at Kültürpark Open Air Theater on April 15 will be donated to the campaign. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to heal the wounds of the earthquakes, the epicenter of which was Kahramanmaraş on February 6 and that affected 11 provinces. With the "One Rent One Home" campaign, the shelter problem of earthquake victims is solved. As part of the campaign, the Antakya Civilizations Choir, which lost 7 of its artists in the earthquake and many of its members were rescued from the rubble, will hold a solidarity concert on Saturday, April 15 at the Kültürpark Open Air Theatre. Under the direction of Yılmaz Özfirat, the concert will start at 21.00 with the participation of guest artists.

Tickets for the concert, which was determined as 100 TL, were put on sale at birkirabiryuva.org. Those who cannot attend the concert will be able to contribute to this solidarity with the option of purchasing unattended tickets for 50 TL. All proceeds from the concert will be donated to the campaign.

Antakya Civilizations Choir is on stage for solidarity

Antakya Civilizations Choir, which was founded in 2007 and includes amateur artists from many ethnic origins, religions and sects, organizes solidarity concerts in cities destroyed by the earthquake to heal the wounds. The ensemble will also perform songs in memory of its members Mehmet Özdemir, Gizem Dönmez, Hakan Samsunlu, Pınar Aksoy, Fatma Çevik, Müge Mimaroğlu and Ahmet Fehmi Ayaz, who lost them in the earthquakes.

The choir was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2012 and received the Ministry of Culture Special Prize in 2019-2020.
