With the ceremony held at the Arifiye Campus of the Ministry of National Defense with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, 2 New Altay tanks were delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces for testing.

At the end of a 25-year struggle in Turkey, the first domestic and national tank has been produced by BMC and has become available to the Turkish Armed Forces.

Turkish engineers, who worked at BMC and many leading companies in our defense industry, worked with great devotion to implement the New Altay tank project with technology, innovation and R&D. Within the scope of the project carried out by BMC in order to meet the modern tank needs of the Turkish Armed Forces with domestic and national resources, many parts of the New Altay tank, which was equipped with the most modern technologies and additional capabilities in accordance with today's battlefield conditions, were localized.

Among the new capabilities added to the new Altay tank are the active protection system, improved armor system, renewed fire control system, renewed vehicle control system, changed power group and many localized subsystems. The new Altay tank will also be brought together with the BATU power group, which is produced entirely locally and nationally by BMC Power, and will be added to Turkey's land defense system by adding strength to its power.

Speaking at the delivery ceremony of 2 New Altay tanks produced by BMC to the Turkish Armed Forces, BMC Chairman of the Board Fuat Tosyalı said, “The trust in Tosyalı Holding, which has 70 years of industrial culture in such a critical project for the future and security of our country, is based on more than 50 years of individual experience in the industry. trust has been the most important factor that has motivated me from the beginning. Since this project will be an important step towards our country's becoming a playmaker in the field of defense industry, our excitement has increased day by day. It is a great honor for us to be a part of such a national project with BMC and to experience this pride with our nation and state. Throughout the whole process, we worked in strong cooperation with all the institutions of our state and our Turkish Armed Forces. Our new Altay tank is a completely new model, completely different from the prototype launched 10 years ago. All domestic and national systems were developed by BMC's R&D and design teams instead of all subsystems that were included in the first prototype but could not be licensed for export from the relevant countries. In addition, many new technological, digital and mechanical systems were integrated into our tank in line with the changing needs of the battlefield. May our new Altay tank be beneficial and auspicious to our glorious army and nation.'' He said.

BMC became the export leader among Defense Industry Land Vehicle Manufacturers in 2022 thanks to the investments made by Tosyalı Holding, which acquired the majority shares, and its reputation in international markets and its production and export performance accordingly. In addition, it reached the position of the 5th largest exporting company in the defense industry.
