Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) subsidiary Medya A.Ş. The gala screening of the movie “From the Sehremanet to the Great Sector, the Most Beautiful Trust in Istanbul” prepared by Cemal Reşit Rey (CRR) Concert Hall met with the audience. Premiere; IMM President and Vice President Candidate Ekrem İmamoğluThe meeting was held with the participation of CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Canan Kaftancıoğlu, Şişli Mayor Muammer Keskin and former İBB President Ali Müfit Gürtuna. Before the screening, İmamoğlu and Gürtuna gave speeches. Emphasizing that the concept of entrustment has an important and very deep meaning in our history, İmamoğlu said, “It is also a very important issue to be sure of the entrusted person. I think this concept is a feeling that needs to be rewarded most for people like us who serve such an ancient city.”

“ WE KNOW THAT WHAT WE HAVE ENCOUNTERED IS NOT ACTUALLY OURS”

Saying, "We know everything we entrust with our dignity, we take the responsibility of not causing the slightest harm to it, and we protect it like our own lives," said İmamoğlu. We know that what we entrust is not actually ours. They are the ones who entrusted it to us. Sensitivity must be very great for him, it is a very important duty to protect him, carry him to the future and leave him to his original owner when the time comes. Istanbul, which has been the capital of important civilizations from the past years, from the depths of history to the present, is the most important and most important city in the world for us. In fact, we always say; The city most worthy of the title of the capital of the world," he said. Emphasizing that Istanbul is a dynamic city with a population of 16 million, İmamoğlu said, “It is more dynamic than any other city. And it has not lost it throughout history. It is different with this feature. Its location in its geography and the blessings that geography offers it are magnificent. It is a great honor to serve this ancient city, to be entrusted with this city by serving as the city's mayor in today's definition," he said.

Describing the mayorship as "a man's term of office that will never diminish and be forgotten in future generations," İmamoğlu said:

“I HEART THANK YOU TO ALL OF THEIR CITY”

“Of course, people don't want to be embarrassed. Not only to be ashamed of its inhabitants, not only to the people of that period, but also to its past and future, and to give it its due. It is the responsibility of not only preserving the values from the past, but also beautifying the present and building the future. I guess the best examples of this will be shown to us by friends and colleagues who contributed to this documentary. We will also see how the services of the city mayors and metropolitan mayors, who left permanent works in this city years ago, still shape and beautify the lives of Istanbulites today. Seeing this, of course, will both shed light on us and give a message to the future as we plan all the steps we will take. From here, on behalf of absolutely all Istanbulites, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all the mayors of the metropolitan municipality who have served this city in the past, and to all of them, in the presence of the kindly venerable Ali Müfit Gürtuna. Of course, while I wish good health to those who are alive, I also wish mercy to those who lost their lives. I and my colleagues, just like them, are making great efforts to produce services that will add value to the value of this beautiful city and bring beauty to people's lives. My greatest wish and effort is to say with a clear heart in the future, 'I have protected and developed this beautiful city, our Istanbul, which I have entrusted. And, of course, to be able to say that I have never betrayed Istanbul.”

GÜRTUNA: “OUR GOAL is; THE POPULATION OF ISTANBUL, WHICH WAS APPROXIMATELY 11 MILLION, DECLINED TO 7-8 MILLIONS”

Gürtuna, who was gifted the book with the same name as the documentary film by İmamoğlu, briefly said the following in his speech:

“Serving this city is not just about serving a city. It is a historical legacy that has been preserved for thousands of years. It is a human heritage. He is the apple of the eye of the Turkish nation. It is the adornment of the Turkish homeland. Of course, it is our duty to protect and watch over this. Serving such a city and protecting this relic is, of course, an extremely sacred work. It is a holy relic. I tried to abide by this trust as best I could. Unfortunately, the '2023 vision' that we handed over did not go the same way. I don't want to politicize the issue; but I can't help but emphasize that. In 1999, when we prepared a 2023-year plan with reference to the 100th anniversary of the Republic, called the '25 vision', our target was; It was the concept of a city that had the population of Istanbul, which was around 11 million, decreased to 7-8 million and became a community of qualified people. Our dream was Istanbul, a community of qualified people capable of producing a high culture, not a warehouse of people or votes. However, the name of the 2023 vision remained, its vision is gone. It has devolved into a path that is exactly the opposite of the picture we put forward.”

“WHEN YOU RUN, THE PEOPLE OF ISTANBUL WILL FOLLOW YOU”

“The stance against bad course must be total. It should be the stance of a city, the stance of a city dweller, the stance of a society. In that respect, the President's stance against projects such as 'Canal Istanbul' that would cause crazy massacres or similar projects, and his stance against processes that would harm Istanbul, have been the reason why I have taken a stance together in this framework. Dear President, my dear brother, Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu; As you take this stance, we are with you. As long as you stand, the people of Istanbul will also stand up. As you walk, the people of Istanbul will walk with you. As you run, the people of Istanbul will run after you. And I hope the hope that our nation, our nation, our country needs, will be produced together. What Turkey needs most today is this hope, this desire for existence. We hope that this will happen soon.”

After the speeches, İmamoğlu shared a meeting with Melda Davran, the author of the book, and Medya A.Ş., who contributed to the film and the project. Plaques of appreciation were presented to the employees. After the presentation of the plaque, the first screening of the movie “From its Sehremanet to the Metropolitan is the Most Beautiful Trust in Istanbul” was held. Project; It consists of a two-volume book along with feature films, documentaries and portraits of the president.
