Teachers Launched 'Happiness in My Suitcase' Project

The project “There is Happiness in My Suitcase” was initiated by teachers working in Sakarya in order to erase the negative traces of children affected by the earthquake disaster, to enable children to integrate into social life quickly and to contribute to psychosocial support processes.

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer shared on his social media account regarding the teachers' event, “Our teachers are working hard to share the smiles of our children in the disaster area with the 'Happiness in My Suitcase' project.” used the phrase.

Within the scope of the project initiated within the scope of the Sakarya National Education Directorate, volunteer and competent teachers prepare wooden suitcases containing various materials in vocational and technical Anatolian high schools, based on their branches, and visit tent cities and container cities in the provinces affected by the earthquake and meet with students.

In the meetings held with children, face painting, creative dance, dramatization, traditional children's games, parkour games, mind and intelligence games, rhythm exercises, instrument presentation, guidance, activities for students with special needs are held.

The group, consisting of teachers from various branches such as physical education, music, visual arts, classroom teaching, guidance, special education, preschool, mathematics, Turkish language and literature, made its first visit to Hatay in this context. It is planned that teachers will visit other provinces in the next period.
