The 50th Yıl Başbya Tram Stop Pedestrian Overpass, which was heavily damaged by a truck crash in Sultangazi, is being renovated. The existing gate, which will be removed on April 2, will be replaced by a new one by June. During this period, Başbya Tram Station will not be able to serve.

Sultangazi 50. Yıl Başbya Tram Stop Pedestrian Overpass was damaged on 16 November 2021 as a result of a truck crash. IMM Infrastructure Projects Directorate started strengthening project studies. Before the implementation of the prepared project, the same overpass was hit by a truck for the second time on March 15, 2023 and heavy damage occurred on the overpass.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) closed the Başbya Tram Station for use as a result of the accident. Work started quickly to remove the existing pedestrian overpass and build a new one.

WORK STARTS SATURDAY NIGHT

In this context, Arnavutköy TEM Highway Connection (Old Edirne Asphalt) will be closed to one-way traffic between 2-2023 on April 00.00, 06.00 (the night that connects Saturday to the market). Work to remove the existing pedestrian overpass will begin. The construction work of the new overpass will be completed in June.

During this period, the 50th Yıl Başbya Tram Stop of the Topkapı-Mescid-i Selam Tram Line will not be able to serve. Pedestrian and tram passenger traffic will be provided from the previous Cumhuriyet Mahallesi Station and the next Hacı Şükrü Station. Information notices will be posted at these three stations regarding the construction work. Hand posters will be printed and distributed to the people of the region.
