Meta Shares Security Measures For Instagram

Meta held a workshop where he shared the features and suggestions he implemented for young people to have a safer experience on Instagram.

Meta gave information about the security tools he brought with the workshop he organized at TOBB. The information shared included measures developed to protect against cyberbullying, harassment and offensive content, and moderation tools for parents and teens.

The control features implemented with Meta's Family Center, which is also available in Turkey, allow parents to obtain detailed information about who has been complained and what type of complaint they have when their children report a post or account.

With the 'Family Center' feature introduced by Meta, when their children report an account, it provides parents with the opportunity to get information about who is being reported and what the complaint is. This feature also gives parents the ability to set their children's Instagram usage time. With its articles and educational videos, the Family Center prepares content that explains how parents can inform and talk about social media with their children.

New age verification system

Instagram also announced that a new age verification system is rolling out starting today. This is especially true when a user under the age of 18 wants to change their age to over 18, they will encounter two different verification systems. One of these methods will be to upload an official ID, and the other will be to shoot a video showing the user's face. This video will be evaluated for age verification using new ageing technology.

With these measures, Meta aims to enable young people to have a safer time on Instagram and to provide parents with the opportunity to establish new control mechanisms for their children and to have training on social media control.
