Organizations that received the Turkey Excellence Award shared their experiences at the Winners' Conference. Turkish Quality Association (KalDer), a well-established non-governmental organization that aims to increase the competitiveness of our country by transforming the culture of excellence into a lifestyle, held its traditional Winners Conference on Monday, March 13 at Beşiktaş Naval Museum. At the conference, senior officials of Metro Istanbul A.Ş., Vakıf GYO and Toyota Boshoku, who won the Turkey Excellence Award this year, as well as Vamed, the owner of the international EFQM award, shared their experiences, knowledge and experiences in the quality journey of their institutions.

The Turkish Quality Association (KalDer) once again drew attention to the concrete results of the quality journey in management with the Winners Conference attended by the institutions and organizations that showed the best performance in the EFQM quality management approach model. The conference, where the organizations that were entitled to receive the Turkey Excellence Award, considered the most prestigious award in the Turkish business world, shared their experiences, was held on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Beşiktaş Naval Museum. While the experiences of Metro Istanbul A.Ş., Vakıf GYO and Toyota Boshoku, which achieved success in the process, as well as Vamed, the owner of the international EFQM award, inspired KalDer members, the exchange of information between institutions created a high-level sharing environment.

Winners inspired institutions under the guidance of KalDer

Yılmaz Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KalDer, gave information about the Winners Conference, where the award-winning organizations shared their experiences; “Like every year, we held the traditional Winners Conference with our valuable speakers and participants this year. As KalDer, we see the Winners Conference as an important sharing platform where successful organizations in the Turkey Excellence Award processes share their knowledge and experience, as a very valuable meeting point for both our association and our member organizations. We aim to guide the business world of our country and to shed a bright light for its routes, while we continue our efforts to gain effectiveness and spread the modern quality philosophy in our country. This is exactly why we wanted to hold the Winners' Conference at the Beşiktaş Naval Museum, where the Historical Galley, built in 1521, is the oldest intact boat in the world. Right next to the boats used by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk himself, we tried to find our way in the face of today's changing conditions, and we joined forces to shape the future. In this process, our compass was the EFQM model, while organizations that have traveled this sea have guided the journeys of our other members. We would like to thank the institutions that shared their experiences and all our participating members.”

“Quality is a necessity in every area of life”

Erhan Baş, Vice Chairman of the Board of KalDer, who made the opening speech of the Winners Conference, said: “As KalDer, we are a non-governmental organization that pioneers innovation, quality of thought and sustainability issues in order to increase the quality of life in Turkey and ensures the participation of new generations in this journey. . With the earthquake that took place recently and unfortunately deeply affected our country, we once again understood how important quality is. Moreover, we have seen that quality management plays a vital role not only in the business world but also in every field in this process where we lost many of our citizens. At this point, as an association, we think that we should cooperate with our members in quality studies all over the country and be united in order to raise our living standards. We saw in the earthquake that the concept of leadership is very critical both for the continuation of the works and for the correct orientation of the masses. We, as KalDer, always keep the concept of leadership in the foreground with the model we implement, and we carry out studies that will reveal the power of leadership. Many institutions implement very important works within the quality organizational work we carry out. At this point, we attach great importance to SMEs. We believe that especially SMEs located in the earthquake zone need our support. In the same way, we know that we need to be on the side of the youth. Persons involved in our quality studies have access to more information on sustainability, leadership, employee and customer satisfaction. The knowledge they acquire spreads, especially to family members, and also affects their own ecosystems. Thus, we can ensure that quality becomes a culture by spreading it. Now, we think that we need to take action to do more for our country and build the future together, and we want to say that we will do our best in this regard.”

At the end of the conference, it was stated that companies wishing to participate in Turkey Excellence Awards 2023 can apply for participation until the end of March.
