Aegean Exporters' Associations is holding the Turkish National Participation Organization for the 65th time on March 7-10, 2023 of the Foodex Fair in Japan, which meets the majority of its food needs through imports and realizes annual food imports of 25 billion dollars.

EIB, Foodex Japan 2023- 48th International Food and Beverage Fair for four days, tasting events where menus prepared according to Japanese taste from Turkish delicacies will be served, olive oil tasting event, Turkish tuna and salmon sushi event, Turkish food exporters and Japanese buyers b2b will organize interviews and influencer events.

Aegean Exporters' Unions Coordinator President Jak Eskinazi said that 48 percent of Turkey-wide exports to Japan and 72 percent of exports from the Aegean Region are on food.

“Turkey's overall exports to Japan have increased by 2018 percent since 30, reaching $619 million. We make 291 million dollars of this export on food. As EIB, 146 million dollars of our 106 million dollars export to Japan is represented by food. We have been organizing the national participation organization of Japan's largest food fair Foodex for 25 years. We have been carrying out our Turquality Project covering Far East countries South Korea, Japan and China for 7 years. Seafood, dried fruit, cereals, pulses and oilseeds, fruit and vegetable products, olives, olive oil are the sectors in which we are strong in the Asia-Pacific market. Turkey has an annual food export of 25 billion dollars. We have the potential to increase our food exports to Japan to 500 million dollars in the short term and to 1 billion dollars in the long run.”

Aegean Exporters' Associations Organic Products and Sustainability Coordinator and Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters' Association President Mehmet Ali Işık pointed out that the Turkish organic sector is a sector that has adapted to the European Green Agreement targets.

“Turkey has an annual production of 1,6 million tons of organic food. The organic sector worldwide has reached a volume of 121 billion euros. The fact that Japan imports 65 billion dollars of food annually and the demand for quality and healthy food is very important for our Turkish organic sector. It is the leader of the Aegean Region in the production and export of organic products in Turkey. Since 2018, we have increased our food exports to Japan across Turkey by 58 percent, and as EIB, we have increased our food exports to Japan by 20 percent. For four days, we will have tasting events where menus prepared from Turkish delicacies according to Japanese taste will be served, b2b meetings between Turkish food exporters and Japanese buyers, and influencer events. With our 35 years of organic experience, we are strongly involved in the Foodex Fair with our 39 companies.”
