Together, I am sure that we will bring a very valuable process to our 10 cities with a very careful study. I would like to thank the Parliamentary CHP Group. We appreciate each and every one of their contributions. Hopefully, let's give our word in your presence that we will bring these temporary shelters together with our earthquake victims here in the near future," he said.

The first stop of Kılıçdaroğlu and the accompanying delegation in Hatay was the Narlıca Cemetery, where some of the citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake disaster are buried. The delegation, which left carnations on the graves of the deceased citizens, commemorated the citizens who lost their lives with prayers. Kılıçdaroğlu, who went from the cemetery to the Hatay EXPO tent in Antakya, attended the “Nation Meeting” held here and addressed the citizens with his live broadcast speech.

İMAMOĞLU: “WE ARE A GREAT TEAM IN HATAY”

One of the visiting points of Kılıçdaroğlu and the accompanying delegation was the Disaster Coordination Center, which was located on 35 acres of land in Antakya by IMM. Making a speech here, İmamoğlu said, “Currently, we are a large team that carries out field service with our President Lütfü Savaş, including the whole system here, taking into account their needs and in cooperation with the coordination of our Hatay Metropolitan Municipality. Of course, the needs are changing day by day and with this change, we are trying to meet them. In this process, of course, there is a big difference between the needs in the first place and the needs of today. Now, we continue the process with an understanding that is based on housing, which thinks about the future of the city, but also deals with current health problems and environmental problems, and takes care of some infrastructure-related processes.”

“OUR PRESIDENT OF WAR IS PROVIDING THE COORDINATION”

Pointing out the importance of the future of Hatay and the cities affected by the earthquake, İmamoğlu said:

“You just stated that in your speech. There is also a ground that is identified with the past, sociological structure, and expectations of that city and where very important technical people, both at national and international level, will contribute with a common mind. Our President of Lütfü Savaş provides an important coordination in this regard. Both the architects, engineers, technical people of the city of Hatay and institutions, organizations and non-governmental organizations from different parts of Turkey are talking about the future of the city in his presence. Of course, we continue all our services together with AFAD, by talking and in coordination with them. While all these processes are being operated, our recommendation especially to the disaster area, that is, to the disaster area at the points where we experienced this earthquake; To be able to build the new Hatay with a strong design and architecture that connects with its past, with a temporary housing system, with a technical infrastructure that will meet the needs of at least 2-3 years, and to build the new Hatay with the principles I have just mentioned.”

CONTRIBUTION OF 10 MILLION LIRA TO PROJECTS FROM THE GNAT CHP GROUP

Emphasizing that they are working exemplary on this issue together with his friends, İmamoğlu said, “With the consent of our Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Municipality, it will host approximately 1600 people in total, both here in Antakya and in Samandag. We are creating accommodation areas that will cover 2 years and include different services. The construction of one has started, the infrastructure processes are continuing. Another will start quickly, in the next 3-2 days. In one of the projects I mentioned, there is a special case that we cooperate with. It will have made a great contribution to one of these temporary accommodation areas that we will make by making a contribution of approximately 3 million liras, which our Republican People's Party and the Turkish Grand National Assembly Group have created. I think we will provide a very useful and exemplary process. Our KİPTAŞ General Manager undertook the construction on behalf of our urban planning group.”

“BUILDING KNOWN HOUSINGS WILL BE THE SECOND PAIN IN THESE CITIES”

Taking the floor again after the presentation of KİPTAŞ General Manager Ali Kurt, İmamoğlu stated that they witnessed the construction of 4-5-storey buildings hastily at the entrance of Hatay, and said, “Constructing familiar houses will be the second pain that will be experienced in these cities, after the disaster we have experienced. Therefore, it is imperative that we prepare our cities for the future in a planned and principled way. I am sure that we can achieve the most exemplary works on this subject in Hatay under the coordination of our esteemed Metropolitan Mayor, who is the assurance of the process here, but together with you and your Presidency after May 14, I think we will bring a very valuable process to these 10 cities with a very careful work. It needs this too. Hopefully, we will give our word in your presence that we will bring these temporary shelters together with the earthquake victims here in the near future.
