Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç's 'Sheep Increasing, Pastures Are Enjoying' project implemented in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry, to which he attaches special importance, in 2 seasons with a cost of 11 million 420 thousand TL, gave hope to the citizens engaged in fattening.
The 'Sheep are Increasing, Pastures are Getting Joyful' project carried out by Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality continues to bear fruit.
Within the scope of the project, the Metropolitan Municipality distributed a total of 2021 small ruminant animals to 1 families, 920 ovine animals for each family, in 11 rural districts with a cost of 20 million 55 thousand TL in 100. distributed 2022 sheep and goats to 9 families, including sheep and 500 ram.
In this project model, which is based on the principle of sustainability, participation and self-help, the return of the distributed sheep and goats will start 2 years after their distribution, while after 2 years each family will give 5 sheep and 4 sheep given in 20 years will be taken back. The sheep will be given to other families in the district with the same method every year.
In the project, which aims to create and develop a livestock model in order to revitalize the sheep breeding sector that will serve to raise the living standards of the rural population with low income levels, a total of 11 small cattle worth 420 million 4 thousand liras delivered to the citizens of the districts became a source of livelihood for the citizens in the rural areas.

Adnan Kuş, one of the breeders of Güzelsu Neighborhood of Tomarza district, who benefited from the 'Sheep are Increasing, Meral is Getting Happy' project of the Metropolitan Municipality, stated that he was very pleased with the project and said, “May God bless the state, we are very pleased. I bought 19 sheep and 1 ram, and 21 lambs in the first year. May God be pleased with the Metropolitan Municipality for giving us this opportunity”.
The breeder named Murat Beyazıt, who benefited from the project and started production with 19 sheep and 1 ram, expressed that he was very pleased with the project of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality and said:
“Last year, I benefited from the 19 sheep and 1 ram project given to us by the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality with the campaign "Our pastures are getting lively". I bought it in 2021, in a year and a half, I had 19 sheep and 1 ram, and now I have 51 sheep and lambs in total. I am very happy with the campaign that our municipality has done. I love the village anyway, and I was very pleased when there was such a campaign. It became a source of income for me and opened a business area. I do it willingly.”
In rural areas where the project is implemented, farmers are supported by extension studies, rangeland improvement and forage crops projects on the subjects of the project.
