In accordance with the law on age-at-retirement, those who started working under insurance before September 8, 1999, and those who fulfilled the retirement conditions outside the age-old, continue to apply for retirement, which started last week.

Application to be made via e-Government

Among those who meet the conditions in the law, those with insurance branch 4/a (SSK) will first apply to their existing workplaces for retirement on the grounds of "retirement".

After the employer's dismissal notification, EYT employees will be able to apply for retirement easily via e-Government.

Finally, the applications will be examined on a file-based basis and a decision will be made whether to grant a pension or not.

Those who meet the conditions and qualify for retirement will receive their pensions as soon as possible.

What is Code #8 in Eviction? What Will Employers Do?

Employers will follow normal retirement procedures in the dismissal of those covered by EYT. In this context, code number 8 will be used in dismissal.

Social security experts warned employees who will retire within the scope of EYT to check whether their dismissal is made according to code number 8. Otherwise, your severance pay may burn.

The employer will pay the retired employee the severance pay he deserves. On the other hand, those who retire within the scope of EYT will be able to benefit from a 30 percent social security support premium discount if they start working at the same workplace within 5 days.

How is Severance Pay Calculated?

Severance pay, which started to be implemented for the first time in Turkey with the Labor Law enacted in 1936, refers to the amount of the collective payment received by an employee who has been working in a workplace for at least 1 year when certain conditions are met.

While calculating the severance pay, the employee's most recent gross wage, which was put on when leaving the job, is taken as a basis. The employee is paid a monthly (30 days) gross wage for each year spent at the workplace, from which only stamp duty is deducted.

When Will EYT Members Get Their First Salary?

Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security, said, “The first salaries will be paid in April. Salaries will be paid according to the applications at the beginning of the first month after it is published in the Official Gazette.
