'17. Countdown Has Started for 'Book Reading Contest'

Applications continue for the 'Book Reading Contest', which has become a cultural classic of Zeytinburnu Municipality Information Houses and Youth Center and is held for the 17th time this year.

This year, the 17th edition of the book reading competition organized by the Zeytinburnu Municipality Information Houses and Youth Center is held every year. The competition, which aims to bring individuals who are curious, research, establish cause-effect relationships and develop productive ideas by creating a love of reading, attracted great interest from book lovers this year, as every year.

After a long and brisk work, 15 carefully selected books are waiting for their readers. The competition, whose applications are accepted until 25 March 2023, will be held and evaluated in four groups. In the first group, primary school 4th and 5th grades; 6th, 7th and 8th grades in the second group; high school students in the third group; In the fourth group, adult book lovers will be able to participate in the competition.

Competitors can borrow their selection of 5 books for their group from Information Houses and Youth Center; provided that the author, publisher and number of prints are the same, they will be able to supply it themselves. With the exam to be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, the participants will be asked 100 questions from the selected books by multiple choice test method.

The winners of the four groups in the competition will receive 10.000 TL, the second place 8.000 TL, the third 6.000 TL, the fourth 4.000 TL, the fifth 3.000 TL, and the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th place 2.000 TL will be distributed. In addition, the candidates who will be in the top 3 will be awarded with the Zeytinburnu Municipality Çanakkale Nature and History Camp, together with two of their families. The award ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Zeytinburnu Culture and Art Center.
