In the operation carried out by the Ministry of Commerce Customs Enforcement teams in Mersin Taşucu Port, 35 kilograms of cannabis hidden in chicken spice was seized.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, during the controls carried out by the Customs Enforcement teams as a result of the risk analyzes for the vehicles coming from Lebanon to Mersin Taşucu Port, three trucks that were found to be together were followed.

As a result of the evaluations, the vehicles that were found to be at risk and that came to the port area empty were subjected to x-ray scanning to be checked. Upon detection of suspicious concentrations in the X-ray images, the vehicles taken to the search hangar were searched in the company of narcotic detector dogs.

As a result of the detailed search, 35 kilograms of cannabis were seized, hidden in the cabins and trunks of the vehicles. It was seen that drug dealers hid the marijuana in boxes and packages containing chicken seasoning, thinking that it would mislead the detector dogs.

While the seized drugs were confiscated by the Customs Enforcement teams, 3 people were detained. The investigation into the incident continues before the Silifke Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
