The Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) collected 1 million 219 thousand 100 kilograms of waste by making a significant contribution to the "Zero Waste" project initiated throughout the country. TCDD, which prevents the cutting of 3 thousand 60 pine trees with the amount of waste it collects, and saves 3 million 700 thousand 102 kilowatt-hours of energy and 12 thousand 404 cubic meters of water, has shown that it acts with the understanding of sustainable environment and sustainable development by preventing the emission of 108 thousand 394 kilograms of greenhouse gases.

TCDD gave great support to the "Zero Waste" project initiated by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change across the country in 2017. TCDD, which first started by collecting waste in the Headquarters building in 2019, later included 233 workplaces across the country into the project. Railroaders who collected 44 million 1 thousand 219 kilograms of waste in the past 100 months; It both prevented the cutting of 3 thousand 60 pine trees and saved 3 million 700 thousand 102 kilowatt-hours of energy and 12 thousand 404 cubic meters of water. Preventing the emission of 108 thousand 394 kilograms of greenhouse gases with the amount of waste it collects, TCDD has created added value for our country by acting with the understanding of sustainable environment and sustainable development.
