In the operation carried out at Sabiha Gökçen Airport by the Customs Enforcement teams of the Ministry of Commerce, 4 suitcases of real human hair were seized.
According to the statement made by the Ministry, in the incident that took place at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, the suitcases belonging to the individuals were x-rayed after the Customs Enforcement teams of the three persons arriving by the plane making the Doha-Istanbul flight were deemed suspicious. Upon detection of suspicious concentrations in the images, the suitcases in question were subjected to physical control and searched in detail by the teams.
As a result of the searches carried out, a total of 54 kilograms of natural human hair in the form of 262 ties was seized in the suitcases belonging to individuals. It was determined that the captured hair was worth approximately 800 thousand Turkish Liras.
While the captured smuggled hair was confiscated by the teams, the investigation into the incident continues before the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
