Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that they made a high standard connection from Pazarkule Border Gate to TEM Highway with the TEM-Edirne Karaağaç Connection Road project, and said, “With the completion of the project, heavy vehicle traffic between Karaağaç and Edirne, which is not allowed to pass over historical bridges, will be provided on the project route. Thus, both our historical bridges will be protected and freight transportation will continue uninterruptedly.”

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu visited the Pazarkule TEM Connection Road Construction Site in Edirne and received information from the authorities about the project. Noting that they had a productive meeting with Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Transport and Communications Hristo Aleksiev, Karaismailoğlu emphasized that Turkey's border gates opening to Europe are of great importance. Karaismailoğlu said that they had important talks to speed up the vehicle crossings and increase the capacity at the border gates.

WE ARE PLANNING TO FINISH OUR RAILWAY LINE FROM ÇERKEZKÖY TO KAPIKULE IN 2024

Noting that they attach importance to rail and maritime transport as well as investments made on land, Karaismailoğlu drew attention to the fact that these works will reduce the intensity in customs. WE CONTINUE OUR PROJECTS IN EDİRNE

Referring to the projects in Edirne, Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that there are 3 important projects in progress in Edirne. Karaismailoğlu, “These are; TEM-Edirne Karaağaç Connection Road, Edirne-Kırklareli divided road construction completion work and historical Uzunköprü restoration works… It continues at a fast pace. These are the projects that we have done in Edirne and that we follow closely. With the TEM-Edirne Karaağaç Connection Road project, we connect directly to the TEM Highway from the Pazarkule Border Gate with a high standard road. With the completion of the project, heavy vehicle traffic between Karaağaç and Edirne, which is not allowed to pass over historical bridges, will be provided on the project route. Thus, both our historical bridges will be protected and freight transportation will continue uninterruptedly.

Karaismailoğlu stated that the floods in the Meriç and Tunca rivers, the flow of which increased in certain periods, prevented the transportation between Edirne and Karaağaç, and continued as follows:

“The 1943-meter Dr. With the Mehmet Müezzinoğlu Bridge, Edirne-Karaağaç connection was secured against floods. We linked this link to our normal way. Hopefully, when the continuing parts of our way are completed, we will have completed our way in a much more comfortable, divided road standard. Pointing out that the restoration works are continuing in Uzunköprü, which has the title of being the longest stone bridge in the world, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu stated that they foresee the project to be completed in May 2024. Emphasizing that Turkey's planned growth process, investment, employment, production and exports will continue to increase, Karaismailoğlu said, “We know very well how important it is to protect our ancestors, our future, our history. If you don't care about the past, there is no future. For this reason, we are working very hard not only with new projects, but also to transform Turkey into a global logistics superpower. However, we consider it as one of our most valuable responsibilities to ensure that our ancestral artifacts reach the future. For this, we are working hard as a whole team.”
