More than 10 Million Citizens Benefited from Public Education Courses in 10 Months

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer announced that more than 81 million 1.000 thousand citizens benefited from approximately 29 thousand employment-oriented courses opened in 491 public education centers and 10 maturation institutes operating in 470 provinces within the scope of lifelong learning under the Ministry.

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer reminded that the General Directorate of Lifelong Learning organized trainings for citizens of all ages and levels in 1.000 public education centers and 29 maturation institutes across Turkey in order to provide guidance and quality education from the cradle to the grave in the process of transforming into a learning society:

“In this context, a total of 1 million 31 thousand 2022 citizens attended the 491 thousand 92 courses opened between January 10 and October 470, 183. Of these, 4 million 248 thousand 981 are male and 6 million 221 thousand 202 are female trainees. According to this number, 40,58 percent of the trainees are men and 59,42 percent are women. A total of 107 million 940 thousand 2 trainees participated in 75 thousand 479 courses opened in October. The vast majority of these trainees are also women.”

Minister Özer gave the following information about the courses opened within the scope of the Family School Project: “From the date of April 6, 2022, when it was put into practice, until October 31, 15 thousand 823 Family School courses were opened for parents, 92 thousand 278 men and 309 thousand 587 women were included in these courses. 401 thousand 865 trainees participated. A total of 9 trainees, 538 men and 63.705 women, attended the 201.113 Family School courses opened in October.

Minister Özer also gave information about the number of vocational and technical courses opened within the scope of life, “The number of vocational and technical courses opened between January 1 and October 31, 2022 was 137 thousand 501. 2 million 693 thousand 111 trainees attended these courses. 830 thousand 109 of the trainees are men and 1 million 863 thousand are women. The number of vocational and technical courses opened in October reached 32. 833 thousand 608 trainees attended these courses. Again, the majority of the trainees are women.”

Expressing that it is aimed to decrease the rates of "neither in education nor in employment" (NEET) by increasing the number of employment-oriented courses, Minister Özer also gave the following information about the most sought-after courses. “Hygiene training for those working in the food and water sector, computer management, decorative wood decoration, traditional hand embroidery, preparation of home textile products, beekeeping, basic processes in clothing production, Turkish embroidery by hand, preparing dowry products, preparing decorative home accessories, natural gas fired central heating fireman , clothes changer, assistant cook, occupational health and safety, sewing women's clothes, crocheting, real estate consultancy, apprentice cook, needlework making, women's outerwear sewing are the twenty most opened courses during the year.
