Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is launching the “I Write Izmir” project to turn script, story or podcast ideas that bear traces of Izmir's culture, history, food, music and social life into a work. As a result of the project for which applications will be received until December 15, 900 people will attend training workshops free of charge. 10 scenarios, 20 stories and 20 podcasts will be made into the final product.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is launching the “I Write Izmir” project in order to train writers in areas such as scenarios, stories and podcasts, in which elements of Izmir and Izmir are prominently featured, and to reveal works of art. The deadline for the project, where the participants will have the opportunity to work with famous writers, directors and screenwriters in their fields, is December 15.
900 people will be entitled to participate in basic workshops
The project, which will enable the emergence of new art products related to the art, culture, history, food, music and sports of Izmir and its region, includes a comprehensive education program. After the applications are received, a total of 900 people will be entitled to participate in free basic workshops. Training will be conducted online and face to face. 10 scenarios ready to meet with the producers, 20 stories that can be collected in a book, and 20 podcasts ready to broadcast will be made into the final product.
Chance to work with famous writers, directors and screenwriters
The authors of the works selected for the project, which is open to participants from all over the world, will work with names such as Levent Kazak, Ezel Akay, Irmak Zileli, Elif Çongur, Melisa Üneri, Nida Dinçtürk and Hale Aksu Engin in the Scenario Studio online workshops.
İzmir will take place in the art industry
With the project carried out jointly by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Izmir Foundation, Izmir Cinema Office, Izelman, Buca Municipality and Scenario Studio, it is aimed to reveal different aspects of Izmir through works of art and to represent itself in the art industry in Turkey and around the world with these works.
