The awards determined by the selection committees to be formed in the fields of "journalism", "politics", "poetry" and "peace", which are Ecevit's fields of activity, will be presented at a ceremony to be held on March 11, 2023.

Reminding that Bülent Ecevit is one of the strongest figures in our political history with his devotion to the values ​​of the Republic, democracy, his fondness for poetry and art, his honesty and his determined attitude towards Cyprus, the President Tunç Soyer He said he would never be forgotten. Explaining that they will give the “Bülent Ecevit Awards” to help Bülent Ecevit to be better understood and to be better known by future generations, President Soyer said, “Bülent Ecevit, who received the Chairmanship of the Republic People's Party from İsmet İnönü, the hero of the War of Independence, is a good person. Besides being a poet and an honest journalist, he also left a mark in Turkey's history as an honorable and humanist politician. We, as the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, decided to give national awards every year on behalf of Bülent Ecevit on four important issues in his life. We will always keep alive the memory of Bülent Ecevit, who we lost 16 years ago today.”

Awards will be given in the fields of "journalism", "politics", "poetry" and "peace", which are among Bülent Ecevit's fields of activity, by the method of selection committee. Selection committees to be formed separately in four branches will determine those who are deemed worthy of the award. The awards will be given to their owners at a ceremony to be held on March 11, 2023.
