The second term has started in the 'Nutrition Hour' practice, implemented by Beylikdüzü Municipality to ensure that every child in the district can be fed under equal conditions and healthily. Lunch boxes for a total of 75 primary school students, determined as a result of social investigations, will be prepared at Beylikdüzü Kitchen every day. The bags, which do not have the corporate logo of the municipality, will be delivered to their children free of charge from the distribution points established in ten neighborhoods. Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık stated that the Feeding Hour application is a social justice project made with the resources of the locals, and said, “We do not want any of our children to go hungry at school or go to bed hungry in the evening in Beylikdüzü. This is actually a moral duty we owe to children. I hope this practice becomes widespread and becomes a state project.” he said.

The second term has started in the 'Nutrition Hour' application, which was implemented by Beylikdüzü Municipality in order to eliminate the inequality of access to food among primary school children and to combat the psychological pressure caused by this inequality. Lunch box support will be given to the primary school children of families in need identified as a result of social investigations, in the new term. In the second period of the application, which had a great impact on the public and reached 14 students in the first term between February 6 and June 963, the lunch boxes for 75 children will be prepared by the municipality. With the approval of dietitians and food engineers, the lunch boxes prepared in Beylikdüzü Mutfak will contain basic necessities such as sandwiches, nuts, fruit and milk. Parents will deliver the bags without the municipality's corporate logo, free of charge, from distribution points established in ten neighborhoods, and deliver them to their children.

“We will prepare the lunch box for our 75 children”

Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık, who shared the details of the second period of the 'Nutrition Hour' application with the public at the press conference, said, “We saw that the children were not fed enough, the families could not even afford to put a sandwich in the lunchbox of the children, as the economic crisis intensified, and some children were even cut off from education because of this. In Beylikdüzü, we do not want any of our children to go hungry at school or go to bed hungry in the evening. This is actually a moral duty we owe to children. For this reason, we implemented the 'Nutrition Hour' project. In the second period of the project, where we reached 963 children in the first period, we will prepare the lunch box for 75 children. I would also like to point out that we have never aimed to reach more children in this project. I hope that every family provides an economic level that can be sufficient for its own child. This project is a social justice project made with local resources. I hope this practice becomes widespread and becomes a government project. I think necessary steps should be taken as soon as possible. We need to give our children what they deserve. A child's destiny cannot be poverty, there cannot be deprivation at all. As local administrators, we should try to support as much as we can.” he said.
