Menemen İZTAŞIT Expeditions Will Start in November

After Kiraz, Menemen was also included in the İZTAŞIT project, which İzmir Metropolitan Municipality implemented for the first time in Seferihisar in order to integrate the surrounding districts into the public transportation network. İZTAŞIT vehicles will start serving Menemen in November. Stating that they are happy to put this exemplary practice into operation in Menemen, Chairman Soyer said, “Both our minibus shopkeepers from Menemen will become stronger and we will provide better service to our citizens.”

İZTAŞIT buses, which first went into service in Seferihisar in December 2019 and in Kiraz in March this year, will start operating in Menemen as of 16 November. In accordance with the contract signed by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and the Menemen Motor Carriers Cooperative No. 34, a total of 25 buses on 103 lines will operate within the "Pay As You Go, A and B" tariff. İZTAŞIT buses will serve in the Menemen region and on the lines connected to İzmir Bus Terminal and Bornova. Thanks to the new buses, while transportation will be carried out with vehicles in compliance with the legislation in the Menemen region, irregular stop-and-go minibuses will cease, and passenger and traffic safety will increase.

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, who stated that they are working to expand the Integration of Individual Transportation Cooperatives into Public Transportation Project (İZTAŞIT) in all surrounding districts. İZMİRİM Card advantages

With the introduction of ESHOT-controlled İZTAŞIT buses, the cash payment period in public transportation will end in Menemen and travel with İzmirim Card. Citizens of the 60 and 65 age group living in the district, the disabled, students and teachers, and those who use free and discounted cards will start to benefit from public transportation rights.

ESHOT will be supervised

İZTAŞIT vehicles, drivers and cooperative management will be under the control of ESHOT. All trainings given to ESHOT drivers will also be given to İZTAŞIT drivers on a regular basis. Transportation plans will be made by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Transportation and the General Directorate of ESHOT.
