Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu pointed out that they will put the Zonguldak-Kilimli Road Project into service with the participation of President Erdogan on January 22, and said, "The transportation to Filyos Port will be easier and the journey between Zonguldak-Kilimli will decrease from 30 minutes to 5 minutes." .

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made a written statement about the Zonguldak-Kilimli Road Project. Stating that the opening of the project will take place on January 22 with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Karaismailoğlu stated that Zonguldak, the city of people who make their bread out of stone, also makes significant contributions to the country's economy with its iron-steel and thermal power plant facilities. Karaismailoğlu, "Zonguldak, which is the largest port of the region and the export gate of the Western Black Sea, is of strategic importance in terms of transportation, with its location combining land, sea and railway transportation modes, its proximity to the Central Anatolia Region and Istanbul."

Pointing out that the Zonguldak-Kilimli Road Project is located on the route of Filyos Port, one of Turkey's most important logistics bases, Karaismailoğlu noted that with the project, they took the transit traffic passing through the settlement out of the settlement area, ensuring traffic safety, safety of life and property.

Providing information about the project to be opened, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said, “The divided road with a total length of 6,5 kilometers was covered with BSK. Within the scope of the project, 764 meters long Aslankayası Tunnel, 473 meters long Uzunkum Tunnel, 674 meters long Prof. Dr. Teoman Duralı Tunnel-2, 3 thousand 92 meters long. Dr. Teoman Durali Tunnel-1 was built. In addition, Karaelmas-457 and Uzunkum bridge junctions with a length of 1 meters were built.

Noting that this section, which connects Zonguldak, which is a heavy industry, and Kilimli, was designed to respond to traffic density, Karaismailoğlu stated that physical and geometric standards were raised with tunnels and connection roads. Underlining that transportation comfort has also been increased, Karaismailoğlu continued his statement as follows:

“As it is known, Kilimli has an important position in terms of the existence of coal mines and especially in terms of providing transportation related to the Filyos Port Project. With the completion of the project, the urban traffic currently used for the Zonguldak-Kilimli crossing will be greatly relieved. It will also benefit economically by shortening the distance. With the project, which will provide transportation to Zonguldak and Kilimli districts in a divided road standard, the route will be shortened by 4,5 kilometers and travel time will be shortened by 25 minutes. Travel time will be reduced from 30 minutes to 5 minutes with the opening of the road section and tunnels. A total of 22,4 million TL will be saved annually, 2,1 million TL from time and 24,5 million TL from fuel.”
