China has announced its new five-year plan for space. Accordingly, China intends to design and develop space-related megaprojects, such as creating habitats for humans and building very large spaceships. The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), which conducts space-related studies in the country, made recommendations to the government in this area. The new five-year plan included "development of megaprojects in space" such as human settlements and the creation of extraordinarily large spaceships.
A spaceship several kilometers wide, which for the moment seems very unreal, is among China's targets in the coming years. The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), which was established in 1986 to promote and finance scientific research, considers that such spaceships should be built for "long-term residence in orbit."
While some scientists predict that these ships will be built on earth and sent to space, another section is considering assembling the parts of these spaceships in space. Obligatory technologies are being developed to realize both situations.
