Science Applications Program in High Schools Begins

The Ministry sent the implementation guide regarding the Science Applications Program in High Schools to all provinces. According to the guide, the program will be implemented as a pilot in high schools affiliated to the General Directorate of Secondary Education in Adıyaman, Ankara, Aydın, Bursa, Iğdır, Isparta and Samsun as of the end of this month, and in schools in all provinces as of the next academic year.

With the program, students are encouraged to engage in academic studies such as scientific thinking, research and presentation, report preparation, self-expression in fields such as science, technology, environment, economy, education, values, geography, history, culture, literature, art, economy, law and politics. It is aimed to develop skills that will create an infrastructure and increase awareness levels. In this context, students will organize scientific meetings such as conferences, panels, seminars, symposiums, forums, and conduct applied science studies.

Students will conduct research with academicians and organize scientific meetings.

Provincial or district national education directorates, Anatolian, science and social sciences high schools, school administrators and teachers, and academicians working in the relevant departments of universities will participate and contribute to the program. In high schools in provinces, students form groups; It will organize scientific meetings in the fields of science, mathematics and technology / social sciences such as conferences, panels, seminars, symposiums and forums. Stating that meetings such as conferences, panels, seminars, information festivals and forums will be held within the scope of the program, which will be carried out in two stages on a school and province basis, Minister Özer stated that the program will be held in the fields of science, mathematics and technology, and social sciences.
