İZBAN Line 136 Comes to Mileage, İstikamet Selçuk

İZBAN Line Rises to 136 Kilometers, İstikamet Selçuk: Efforts started to extend the Izmir Suburban System (İZBAN) line, which is the largest urban public transportation project in the history of the Republic, realized in partnership with İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and TCDD, to Selçuk after Torbalı.

İZBAN line, which extends the 30 more than the Torbalı part of the station by completing the construction of the road sub-overpass ready for the opening of the Metropolitan Municipality, now 26 kilometers of the two projects in the Selcuk project made the tender. Following the finalization of the tenders that are currently in the evaluation phase, the construction works will start immediately. With the addition of this line, the total line length of the 80 kilometer, İZBAN, will be increased to 136 kilometers.

WHAT'S IN THE PROJECT?

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which has been continuing its efforts to develop the rail network, has prepared application projects to extend the İzmir Suburban System İZBAN to Selçuk. In this context, construction tenders were made for Health and Selçuk stations located on the 26 kilometer line between Torbalı-Tepeköy and Selçuk. 2 highway overpass and 7 culvert type highway underpass will be constructed at the necessary points of the line.

JOINT VENTURE WITH TCDD

According to the protocol made by the Metropolitan Municipality with TCDD, the construction of the stations and the overland crossings will be made by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. TCDD will perform line laying works, signaling, kataner system and protection walls.
