The Number of EU Registered Products Increased to 19 with 'Safranbolu Saffron'

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that the number of registered products increased to 19 with 'Safranbolu Saffron', which received geographical indication registration from the EU.

Explaining that the first spice to cross borders was "Safranbolu Saffron", Minister Yumaklı said, "With 'Safranbolu Saffron' receiving geographical indication registration from the EU, the number of registered products increased to 19. “Our geographically indicated products will add abundance to the fertile lands of Anatolia.” he said.

Geographical indication registration is a registration that shows that a product is produced in a certain geographical region and has unique qualities depending on the production conditions in this region. This registration helps protect consumers by improving the quality and reliability of the product. It also helps manufacturers gain marketing and competitive advantage by increasing the brand value of the product.

The number of products that received geographical indication registration in Turkey increased to 19. Safranbolu saffron is the first of these products. This registration shows that Turkey's geographically indicated products have the potential to find more space in the international market.
