The Metropolitan Municipality, which registered the black fig with the BlackBursa brand through the BlackBursa brand, started to reap the fruits of the geographical indication studies it initiated for Yenişehir Pepper, Bursa Chestnut and Keles Cherry. As a result of the examination and analysis, a Geographical Indication and Registration Certificate was given to the 'Yenişehir Pepper' by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office. Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş delivered the registration certificate to Yenişehir Mayor Davut Aydın at the second session of the Metropolitan Municipality Council's December meeting.
New products on the way
Stating that they are doing very important works to increase the brand value of Bursa in the agricultural field, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş said, “For this purpose; Geographical indication projects were initiated for Yenişehir Pepper, Bursa Chestnut and Keles Cherry. Today, however, we are experiencing an important moment when we started to get the outputs of these ongoing studies. As a result of the examination and analysis, a Geographical Indication and Registration Certificate was given to the 'Yenişehir Pepper' by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office. I wish you good luck. Our Rural Services Department will continue to work 'to increase the brand value of agricultural products' in 2023. We continue to work on obtaining registration certificates for Black Cumin, Mahmudiye Strawberry and Konaklı Melon.”
Yenişehir Mayor Davut Aydın also stated that for the first time a product registration certificate was obtained in Yenişehir, “We have registered that pepper is produced in Yenişehir. I would like to thank everyone who contributed, especially our Metropolitan Mayor Alinur Aktaş.”
