Due to the ongoing work on the highway of the Emek - City Hospital Rail System Line, which was designed for uninterrupted transportation to the City Hospital in Bursa, the traffic transfer on the Mudanya road has ended. The road, which was first opened as 11 lanes in both directions on September 2023, 2, returned to its normal course as 3 lanes in both directions with the completion of the work in the Gateway area.

Work continues rapidly on the Emek - City Hospital Rail System Line, which was designed by the Metropolitan Municipality in order to ensure uninterrupted transportation in Bursa City Hospital, which bears the burden of Bursa's healthcare services significantly, especially during the pandemic period, with a total bed capacity of 6 in 355 different hospitals. Lane transfer was made due to the works on the sections of the 6.1 kilometer 4-station line on the Mudanya road, which was transferred to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure by the decision of the Council of Ministers. With the completion of the rail system works on the highway and the completion of the asphalting works, the Mudanya road was opened to traffic as 11 lanes in both directions as of Monday, September 2. Mudanya road, where the work was completed with the intense work of the Metropolitan Municipality teams, has now been opened to traffic with 3 lanes in both directions.

The project, which the people of Bursa are eagerly awaiting for uninterrupted access to the City Hospital, is closely followed by the top of the city. Bursa Governor Mahmut Demirtaş, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, Bursa Deputies Refik Özen and Muhammet Müfit Aydın, General Manager of Infrastructure Investments of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Yalçın Eyigün and AK Party Provincial Chairman Davut Gürkan inspected the road, which returned to its normal course as 3 lanes each. He received information from the contractor company officials about the ongoing rail system work.

Studies are progressing rapidly

Evaluating the work in the region, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş said that they are making a great effort to raise the standards of Bursa in every field, from urban transformation to green areas, from sports to infrastructure and transportation. Stating that they work at an intense pace day and night, Mayor Aktaş said, “Of course, thank God, we are not alone on this path. In this sense, we are trying to benefit from our President, our ministers, our MPs, in short, all the opportunities of our state. One of them is the Emek - City Hospital line. Our tender was canceled twice, and unfortunately the works that had started were stopped. As you know, we experienced serious problems with machinery and equipment during the earthquake we experienced. But thank God, we have come a long way now. Within the scope of this work, especially in the works on the Geçit line, the narrowing of the road here caused our citizens using the Mudanya road to seriously lose time. We opened the road as 11 × 2023 on September 2, 2, but it was not enough. Today, we reduced the waiting time by widening the road to 3 lanes in both directions. Hopefully, by the end of February, we will have opened the first station to Özdilek before the Gateway. I would like to express that the work will progress very quickly and with every move made after today, our citizens will use this line more easily. "I hope it will be beneficial and auspicious for our Bursa," he said.
