President of Kazakhstan Kasım Cömert Tokayev stated that they plan to build over 3 kilometers of railways in the next 1300 years.

Tokayev attended the First Heads of State Summit held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the United Nations Special Program for Central Asian Economies (SPECA).

Speaking here, Tokayev stated that they support the institutionalization process of SPECA, which is designed to fully reveal the enormous commercial, economic and investment potential of member countries.

Tokayev pointed out that cooperation within the framework of SPECA has become even more meaningful in the current difficult geopolitical period and said, “Our countries have great opportunities to expand mutual trade. "We can supply a variety of products to each other's markets at competitive prices and reduce imports from other countries." said.

Noting that SPECA member countries play a major role in the development and diversification of international transportation and transit corridors, Tokayev said, "In this context, we pin great hopes on the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor." he said.

Tokayev stated that Kazakhstan has invested more than 15 billion dollars in transportation infrastructure in the last 35 years and said, “We plan to build over 1300 kilometers of railways in the next three years. This; It will increase freight transportation capacity to China, South Asia, Russia and Europe.” he said.

The summit hosted by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was attended by Kazakhstan President Tokayev, Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Kyrgyzstan President Sadir Caparov and Tajikistan President Emomali Rahman.
