Hüseyin Soykan and other officials of our company participated in the meeting, while on the union side, President Yunus Değirmenci, Vice Presidents Bayram Altun, Recep Akyel, Ferhan Öner and Secretary General Hicret Bozoklu and Karabük Branch Chairman and Managers were at the table.

With the contract signed, employees' hourly labor charges;

Addressing the employees here, Kardemir Chairman Kamil Güleç stated that Kardemir is a very large family and said: “We opposed the closure of these factories 25 years ago with you. Together with the deceased Metin Türker, we struggled together as Özçelik Business Union, Hak İş Confederation, Karabük local people. At the end of that struggle, we prevented the closure of Kardemir and managed to be privatized. We are grateful to everyone who contributed in this regard and we commemorate those who left us with mercy. 25 years ago, Kardemir is a big family, and as the company wrote its word on the walls, I wrote it in my heart. I am very happy now. I see that you are all very happy. In order to make you happy, we happily ended the Collective Bargaining Agreement we hold in our union today. 2019 is the last year of our goals for Kardemir. In other words, we set out with a diligence targeting 15-3 million tons 3,5 years ago and aiming to realize more than $ 2 billion investment. For the last 15 years, we have succeeded in these investments by taking advantage of financial stability with the support of our current government, our President and our Prime Ministers. We are about to finish this year. All of our heaviest investments end at the end of the year. In this difficult year, we have shown our best efforts and have made the necessary sacrifices in the contract by relying on you. Kardemir is a family, a family with all its employees, unions, shareholders, all managers, and the board of directors. It is also the biggest part of the people of Karabük. Your face should always smile. As long as Kardemir carries this corporate identity, always be happy and bring peace to your family and children. Spend your income in return in the most beautiful places. May this contract be auspicious to all of you, Karabük and our country's industry ”

In his speech at the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kardemir Ömer Faruk ÖZ, he stated that Kardemir has realized the highest profitability period in 2018 since the day it was privatized, and that the greatest effort there belongs to the employees. Ömer Faruk Öz, who said that 2018 was a good year for the Iron and Steel Industry, but that the sector has shrunk a bit for 2019 and the years to come, continued his speech as follows: “As management, we will not allow Kardemir to suffer from this. We will produce steels with high added value. We made the first production on the railway wheel. We started to produce the steels used by the automotive industry. Currently Turkey's top defense industry in which it invests and Kardemir we established a commission for the defense industry. Kardemir will now produce the steels used in the defense industry. We will definitely produce logs, we will give them to the industrial establishments in Karabük with the logs we produce. Because our workers are the ones working there. We will not be a victim of them either, but as Kardemir, we will now start to produce high value added steel. Kardemir will emerge from the shrinking economy of the sector. We will create a stronger Kardemir together, hand in hand and heart to heart. ”

Then, Ozcelik-Is Union President Yunus Degirmenci, who came to the podium, informed the employees about the wage increases achieved in the Collective Labor Agreement signed in his speech. Acknowledging the Cardemir Administration for its approach in the contract process, General President Değirmenci wished the contract to be beneficial for all Kardemir employees.
