Camping and Caravan Enthusiasts Gathered in Bursa

Organized for the second time this year with the contributions of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Bursa Culture, Tourism and Promotion Union, Harmancık Municipality and the National Camping and Caravan Federation, the 'Bursa Camping and Caravan Festival' brought together camp, caravan and nature enthusiasts in Harmancık Caravan Park.

The 'Bursa Camping and Caravan Festival', the first of which was held in Orhaneli with the participation of over 300 caravans last year, brought together camp and caravan enthusiasts once again, this time in Harmancık Caravan Park. Campers and caravans from different parts of Turkey to the Harmancık District of Bursa settled in the caravan park established in the forest area on the southern slopes of Uludağ. Nature and caravan lovers enjoyed the unique Uludag landscape for 3 days. Prepared within the scope of the festival '2. Bursa Organic Products Festival also attracted great attention from the participants. The guests, who had the opportunity to taste organic products produced in the region, met their food and beverage needs with organic products. Within the scope of Organic Products Festival, women's cooperatives producing food in Bursa and agricultural products grown in Orhaneli, Harmancık, Büyükorhan and Keles regions were introduced.

The festival started with morning sports in the pine forests of Uludağ after the campers and caravans settled. In the festival, which continued with the award-winning adventure track competition and the Karagöz-Hacivat show, the interview of Franzisca Niehus (@travelcomic), who attracted attention with her sympathy for Turkey and announced her city visits and experiences with her classic car, on social media, also attracted great attention. In the festival, where the famous music group 'Night Travelers' also took the stage, camp and caravan enthusiasts had a musical feast to the fullest.

In addition to Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, Bursa Deputy Osman Mesten, Harmancık Mayor Yılmaz Ataş, Orhaneli Mayor Ali Aykurt, Büyükorhan Mayor Ahmet Korkmaz, Keles Mayor Mehmet Keskin, as well as Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Mehmet Keskin , Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Kamil Özer, political party representatives, council members and municipal bureaucrats attended.

Great target in rural and nature tourism

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, who spoke at the opening ceremony of the festival, wished the second festival held this year to be beneficial. Stating that they have made serious investments in tourism, President Alinur Aktaş stated that they support all areas of tourism with tourism fairs, B2B meetings, fam trips and tourism investments. Mayor ktaş said, “Although mountain districts seem small in terms of population, they have great potential especially in terms of rural and nature tourism. We are trying to explain this to all of Turkey and the world. Bursa Camping and Caravan Festival is also organized in this context. There is a large participation. Especially the pandemic process has shown us once again how valuable the choice of camping and caravan is. I also see that the interest of families in this direction is increasing. We have serious goals related to nature and rural tourism in the mountain region. Rafting in Orhaneli, plateau in Büyükorhan, Kocayayla in Keles and caravan park activities in Harmancık excite us for the future. Bursa is not only a city of industry and agriculture, but also a city of tourism. It is a city where every layer of nature tourism can be experienced. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the organization of the festival.”

Bursa Deputy Osman Mesten stated that Bursa, which is leading in a field from industry to agriculture, needs support in tourism. Underlining that serious studies have been carried out on this issue, Mesten stated that they have taken steps to ensure that Uludağ can be used in all seasons and to increase tourism activity in four mountain districts. Stating that Bursa Metropolitan Municipality has made significant contributions to this issue, Mesten wished the festival to be beneficial.

Harmancık District Governor Muhammed Furkan Tuna expressed that Bursa attaches great importance to tourism and that such festivals are the best examples of this and thanked everyone who came to the district to attend the festival. Stating that the festival will add value to Harmancık district, Tuna thanked Bursa Metropolitan Municipality for leading the organization of the program.

Harmancık Mayor Yılmaz Ataş said that they are happy to open the Harmancık Caravan Park, which they organized in cooperation with Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and BEBKA. Ataş thanked everyone who supported this issue and wished the festival to be beneficial.

Leyla Özdağ, Chairman of the Board of the National Camping and Caravan Federation, thanked Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Bursa Culture, Tourism and Promotion Association and district municipalities for opening forest villages to nature tourism and wished the festival to be beneficial.
Camping and caravan enthusiasts participating in the festival also stated that it was the right decision to organize such festivals in Bursa, which is remembered with green, and expressed that they enjoyed participating in the festival.

After the speeches, President Alinur Aktaş and those accompanying him visited the stands set up as part of the Organic Products Festival, tasted organic products and received information from the producers.
