Haydarpaşa Station Building was built during the reign of Abdülhamid II. Intending to be a magnificent structure that will make a sound in the world, it was held with a competition attended by the most successful architects from all over the world for the construction of Haydarpaşa Train Station. Among the projects that were meticulously examined, the decision was made on the presentation of two German architects: Otto Ritter and Helmuth Conu. A German company named Anadolu Bağdat undertook the project. Over a hundred masters from Germany and Italy were brought to Istanbul.
