The draft law of the government, which aims to gather the two national railway companies under one roof and to open the railway services to free competition conditions due to the accumulated debts, was discussed at the parliamentary general assembly on 17 June and entered into force at the beginning of the year. The government warned that the debt of the railways administration reached 40 billion euros, and that if no measures are taken, the debt would reach 2025 billion euros by 80.
