In support of the World Health Organization's (WHO) COVAX initiative and its efforts to evenly distribute two billion doses of COVID-2021 vaccine in 19, the Dubai Vaccine Logistics Association will bring Emirates Airlines' expertise and global coverage to DP World's worldwide ports and brings together the logistics operations network and the infrastructure of Dubai Airports and International Humanitarian City to distribute vaccines worldwide. The distribution will focus particularly on developing countries whose populations have been severely injured by the epidemic, where drug transportation and logistics are difficult.
The Vaccine Logistics Association works with a wide range of stakeholders for the shipment of vaccines, including drug manufacturers, shipping companies, government agencies and other organizations.

The International Humanitarian City (IHC), the world's largest humanitarian logistics center based in Dubai and demonstrating its expertise for aid materials such as food and medicine in countries with limited infrastructure, will be one of the most important partners of the Dubai Vaccine Logistics Association. IHC and Emirates SkyCargo have already partnered on many humanitarian cargo flights, and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for closer cooperation on humanitarian flights in early 2020.

DP World logistics operations will enable the collection of vaccines from production facilities in countries such as Europe, the USA and India, and deliver them to air, sea and land ports for delivery to other countries. Using DP World's global network of FDP-compliant storage and distribution centers, vaccines will be stored for time and temperature sensitive distribution to hospitals and clinics. Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC) operator Dubai Airports will contribute to the work of the newly created Dubai Vaccine Logistics Association by providing additional space at its private facilities in Dubai International (DXB). The new tailored cargo facilities will serve as a warehouse for COVID-19 vaccines to be transported through interconnected operations in DXB and DWC. Working closely with Emirates SkyCargo and Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Airports will ensure that additional vaccine storage capacity will comply with all regulatory rules for the transport of COVID-19 vaccines and streamline relevant processes with stakeholders and business partners.
