İzmir Metropolitan Municipality İZSU General Directorate, Karşıyaka It carries out dredging and cleaning work at the point where Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone (AOSB) Stream in Mavişehir connects to İzmir Bay. In the study, which includes 5 construction machines, 12 trucks and 20 personnel, an area of ​​​​approximately 50 thousand square meters is scanned.

In order to prevent the odor problem, İZSU General Directorate continues its creek cleaning works in addition to the channel and gallery channel cleanings it carries out throughout the city. Karşıyaka The dredging and creek cleaning works initiated in this context at the AOSB Stream in Mavişehir continue. In the works carried out at the point where the creek connects to the Izmir Bay, 5 construction machines, 12 trucks and 20 personnel, one of which is an amphibious dredging vehicle, are employed. As a result of the study, in which the area of ​​​​50 thousand square meters will be scanned, the resistance of the region against floods is increased, and the possible local odor problem is prevented by purifying the creek from pollutants that come with precipitation.

An important step for the Living Bay

In line with the Living Bay program, İZSU General Directorate is working hard throughout İzmir to reset the pollution sources going to the Gulf. In this context, emphasis is placed on the cleaning works of the creeks reaching the Gulf.

AOSB Stream, which is formed by the combination of Büyük Çiğli, Küçük Çiğli and Harmandalı creeks, reaches İzmir Bay by passing through residential areas and industrial areas in Çiğli. It is foreseen that the cleaning works carried out in the stream, which has a wide impact area, will play an important role in the recovery of the Gulf, while it is aimed to increase the quality of life of the residents of the region.
