SME E-Commerce Report Announced

 IdeaSoft2023 SME E-Commerce Report, prepared to contribute to the ever-growing e-commerce ecosystem and the country's economy and to shed light on small and medium-sized businesses in their e-commerce journeys, has been announced.

The report was created by analyzing more than 19 million product orders from more than 9 thousand e-commerce sites.

In the report; Comprehensive statistics were published, including the number of products sold, sectors with increasing sales volumes, their distribution according to days and seasons, regions where orders were placed, shipping preferences and payment methods.

TOTAL VOLUME INCREASED BY 8% AND EXCEEDED 15 BILLION TL

According to the report created with more than 9 million orders, in 2023, more than 9 million consumers met their 103 million needs through sites using e-commerce infrastructures developed by IdeaSoft. The total volume increased by 2022% compared to 8 and exceeded 15 billion TL. While the number of products sold was 103.640,231, the number of products in the basket was 11.33, and the basket average was 1.711,14 TL.

When the orders received were examined on a device basis, it was revealed that 71.3% of the orders were received via mobile devices. While the number of products sold via mobile was 6.517.44, the sales rate from mobile increased to 71.3%. In 2022, this figure was 61.99. While the number of orders placed from desktop was 2.624.432, this number decreased by 2022% compared to 28.7. In 2022, this figure was 38.01%.

ORDER RATES BY REGION

The regions with the most orders had the same ranking as in 2021. While the Marmara Region, where Istanbul is located, was the region with the most orders, Southeastern Anatolia was the region with the least orders with an order rate of 4.06%. The order rates of the regions are; Marmara was 42.08%, Central Anatolia .80, Black Sea .49, Aegean 7.92%, Mediterranean .08, Eastern Anatolia 4.57%, Southeastern Anatolia 4.06%.

SALES VOLUMES ARE GROWING IN ARDAHAN, MUĞLA AND KONYA

In the province-based order figures, where the first 3 places remained unchanged, the growing sales volumes of cities such as Ardahan, Muğla and Konya attracted attention. Sales volumes by province are; Kocaeli 2.91%, Ankara 9.28%, Eskişehir 1.35%, Adana 3.96%, Ardahan 3.78%, Bartın 1.85%, Istanbul 27.69%, Tekirdağ 1.54%, Adıyaman 1.90%, Konya 2.26%, İzmir 7.03%, Balıkesir 1.27%, Manisa % 1.76, Muğla 2.08%, Gaziantep 1.46%, other provinces 29.08%.

47.69% OF PRODUCTS WERE SOLD WITH FREE SHIPPING OPTION

47.69% of the products sold on e-commerce sites were sold with free shipping option. While 52,31% of businesses charge shipping fees, 47,69% do not charge shipping fees.

Sales were 27.44% in Winter, 31.49% in Spring, 8.95% in Summer and 32.12% in Autumn.

THE BEST SALES DAY IS TUESDAY

The day with the highest sales was Tuesday with .43, Monday with .33, Wednesday with .71, Thursday with .57, Friday with .70, Saturday with .52 and Sunday with .74.

When looking at the shopping hours, it was seen that the most orders were placed between 14.00-15.00 hours, while the 0.27-05 hour period with an order rate of 06% was in the last place on the list.

While 77.12% of users who place an order prefer the payment option by credit card, payment at the door ranks second with a percentage of .21. 8.67% prefer Money Order-EFT.

Of the users who prefer to do their shopping in installments, 84.22% prefer the single payment option and 3.40% prefer the 2 installment option. 4.84% prefers 3 installments, 1.78% prefers 4 installments, 0.84% ​​prefers 5 installments, 2.51% prefers 6 installments, and 2.51% prefers 7 or more installments.

HARDWARE & CONSTRUCTION MARKET SECTOR IS AT THE SUMMIT AGAIN

While the Hardware & Construction Market Sector maintained its place at the top among the sectors with the highest total sales in 2023, a wide range of products that were not in the top 10 the previous year were included in the list from the 10th place.

The top ten sectors are; Hardware & Construction Market, Furniture, Electronics, Food, White Goods & Home Appliances, Hunting & Camping Outdoor, Automotive Spare Parts, Personal Care & Cosmetics, Textiles & Clothing, Many Various Products.

THE MOST GROWING SECTOR IN TERMS OF TOTAL TURNOVER IS FURNITURE WITH 507.41%

In the top 10 sectors with the highest growth in terms of total turnover, the top three were Furniture with a basket average of 10.854.13 TL, 507.41%, Watches & Optical, with a basket average of 3.784.86 TL, 307.54%, and Bags, with a basket average of 706,51 TL, 297.73%. Other sectors were: Mobile Phones, Motorcycle Equipment, Electricity, Electronics, Hunting&CampingOutdoor, and Heating&Cooling.
